DofE Programme

Duke of Edinburgh or DofE as it is commonly known as goes beyond the traditional classroom learning environment and pupils engage in learning through experience in real-life situations.

The programme allows each pupil the freedom to choose from an abundant range of activities allowing them to develop their skill in topics and areas they have a specific interest in. From 14 years up the award is accessible so pupils can gain the life and practical skills they will need when they leave school. Duke of Edinburgh is a highly valued award among employers.

Pupils at Hope View School will tailor their DofE Award according to their own individual preferences, we facilitate and enable them to experience try new things. This means the award is unique and different for everybody as they take ownership of their award while planning each section and working through it. DofE teaches pupils critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and independence.
